Hillside Drive winds its way up the middle of the south side of the Chehalem Mountains. Ginny and David Adelsheim first planted a vineyard just off that road in 1972. It was still called County Road 102 in those days. Six years later, they founded the first winery in those mountains. In the 38 years that followed, County Road 102 got a name - Hillside Drive - and the area became famous for its vines and its wines. Ten more vineyards now hug the 2.2-mile lane and three wineries have their addresses on Hillside Drive.
We want to start a new June tradition - a Hillside Drive Block Party to celebrate Oregon’s summer and the great wines of our country lane. Join eight wineries on the evening of Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the site of the original Adelsheim winery - 22150 NE Quarter Mile Lane (Newberg) - for the three "s": sausages, salads, and salubrious beverages. The later will certainly include wines from the vineyards of Hillside Drive.
The wineries are: Adams Vineyard (Trout Lily Ranch), Adelsheim, J. Christopher, Longplay, Mad Violets, Rex Hill, Scott Paul, and Vidon.
Event begins at 6pm.
